Steel Conservatory Bases

Conservatories -v- orangeries

by admin on 9 August 2009

Will conservatories ever be replaced by orangeries?

In my personal opinion, the answer to this is, some will, but conservatories will continue to form the largest slice of the industry’s sales, at least for the foreseeable future anyway.

As we all know, orangeries are now becoming more popular in the UK and I think this popularity will continue to grow over the next few years.

I would expect though, that this will eventually settle down with orangeries taking the smaller percentage of sales in relation to conservatories. The reason I feel this is due to a conservatory being a far cheaper, easier and typically quicker option for consumers to add space to their homes.

To conclude, I think there will always be a healthy market for both conservatories and orangeries, with conservatory sales taking the biggest slice of the action.

I’m quite new to this industry, but as an outsider who’s come in and been asked to blog about products, the Orangery is much more appealing to me personally. I think that may be a case of age, as I’m still relatively young. Everyone I’ve asked around my age have also been impressed with the orangery design, so perhaps it’s better targeted towards the more modern home owners.

I agree though that Conservatories will still outsell Orangeries by a decent amount, at least for the foreseeable future. But a few articles in the times, guardian, some info on some housing shows, and orangery sales could increase a lot.
